Munich based InterNations recently completed the Expat Insider 2017 Survey. In its fourth year, the survey aims to provide an inside look into the life of expats across the globe. In this year’s survey, 12,500 expats were questioned on their experiences in 188 countries. The expat company used this information to rank 65 destinations across over 40 factors that affect expats. InterNations Mexico was ranked 3rd best destination in the world for expats!
A networking company founded in 2007, it currently has a presence in 390 cities worldwide. With over 2.8 million members, they organise networking events in each of their cities that encourage a sense of community amongst expats. These events and activities amount to 5,000 individual occurrences each month where people can share tips, tricks and connections.
Membership is initially free, though events can often charge a fee. An upgraded Albatross membership allows members access to premium content, features and also a discount to charged events.
InterNations Mexico currently has four established communities in the country. These include: Mexico City, Guadalajara, Cancun and Monterrey. There are also many upcoming communities that include popular destinations such as Puerto Vallarta and San Miguel de Allende. The nationality of the members in Mexico are quite varied. South Americans such as Argentinians, Colombians, Brazilians and Venezuelans are common. However, there are also lots of Europeans including Spaniards, Brits and French. Unsurprisingly, Americans and Canadians also make up a large number.
And they all seem happy!
