Bacalar Rejects Formation of Natural Protected Area

The municipality of Bacalar and it’s adjoining lagoon is a little-known treasure of Quintana Roo. Often referred to as ‘La Laguna de Siete Colores’  or ‘The Lagoon of Seven Colours,’ the Bacalar lagoon is an incredibly beautiful natural area with crystal waters of turquoise, emerald, teal and cerulean all merging together. So it should come as a surprise that the residents of Bacalar are opposing the creation of a nature reserve that would protect the unique beauty of the area.

Playa Del Carmen Independence Day Celebrations

Mexico Independence Day, or Día de la Independencia, is naturally a huge holiday in Mexico. It celebrates the Cry of Independence. InterNations Mexico 3rd Best For Expats

Munich based InterNations recently completed the Expat Insider 2017 Survey. In its fourth year, the survey aims to provide an inside look into the life of expats across the globe. In this year’s survey, 12,500 expats were questioned on their experiences in 188 countries. The expat company used this information to rank 65 destinations across over 40 factors that affect expats. InterNations Mexico was ranked 3rd best destination in the world for expats!

Mexico’s Foreign Investment for Tourism

Mexico is looking towards the UAE in hopes of increasing the amount of foreign investment coming into the country. Investment opportunities currently include many sectors of the economy such as energy and infrastructure. However, one of the main areas Mexico is looking to attract foreign investment into is the tourism industry. The history of Mexico’s foreign investment is long and successful. And now, solidifying ties to the UAE may be the next big step for Mexico’s tourism industry.

The news of an active decision to attract investment from the UAE came from Mexico’s UAE ambassador, Francisca Elizabeth Mendez Escobar. She recently discussed plans in an interview with Gulf News.
